The vision of Ayuna group is to educate and enlighten people about important health and social issues using the creative arts, thereby bridging the gap between health education and the arts.
Why the creative arts?
The creative arts are very popular among all ages of people especially young people and are a very powerful way of attracting their attention. Creative art-based orientation programs can be used to re-channel the thinking of people regardless of age, gender, race or socioeconomic status.
Music, dance and drama are very integral elements of Nigerian and African culture. They were the main media of communication, education and orientation in Africa before the advent of western education.
We believe that they are still powerful tools of enlightenment as well as entertainment for Nigeria and Africa as a whole and have been underutilized in their potential help our people live longer, healthier and more valuable lives. In today’s world there has been a resurgence in the popularity of the arts especially with young people because they are fun and lively. The high entertainment value makes them very attractive to young people. They are also becoming a fast rising industry on the African continent that is contributing to the growth of African economies and can become a key player in resolving the challenge of unemployment in Nigeria and the African continent as a whole.
